Client: Oregon State University Extension Office
Challenge: Blue Marble Creative was hired to create an encouraging calendar for senior citizens packed full of information and resources. The calendar was to be promoted with events where participants would get their "Passport" stamped for each month.
Process: Soon after I was hired at Blue Marble I started work on this project. With "Happiness" as the theme I choose a bright color palette and created a hand-drawn font for the largest headings. The hand-drawn look was carried throughout the calendars in the borders and stroke that was used in each of the 12 original background illustrations. A large round font was chosen to make it easily readable, and the client supplied us with great photos showing seniors in activities that went along with the message of each month.
Outcome: The calendar was a great success with both the client and area seniors. This project was renewed with a contract for a new calendar for the following year.
